DTV applications must be submitted from outside Thailand through the Thai E-Visa system.
Effective August 31, 2026, you must apply in a country where you are either a national or permanent resident. You can no longer travel to another country simply to submit a DTV application unless you are a national or permanent resident of that country.
For example, a U.S. citizen can apply through the appropriate Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in the United States. If the applicant is a permanent resident of another country, they may apply there using acceptable proof of permanent residence.
Always check the current requirements of the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate responsible for your application before submitting.

DTV applicants must provide financial evidence showing at least 500,000 THB, or the equivalent in another currency.
Most Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates require recent bank statements showing the applicant’s name and sufficient funds. Many currently require statements covering the previous three months, although the exact documentation requirements can vary depending on where you apply.
The funds may be held in a bank account outside Thailand and do not need to be in Thai baht, provided the statements clearly demonstrate the equivalent of at least 500,000 THB.
Assets such as property, vehicles, cryptocurrency, stocks, business ownership or investment portfolios should not be used as a substitute for the required bank financial evidence.
Some Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates may accept sponsorship or family financial evidence under their own requirements. Always check the specific financial-document requirements of the Embassy or Consulate handling your application before submitting.

Yes. DTV applicants are required to provide a criminal background check or police clearance certificate as part of their personal supporting documents.
The document should be obtained from the appropriate authority in your country of nationality or permanent residence and meet the requirements of the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate where you are applying.
Phuket Muay Thai does not obtain this document for you. It is a personal document that you must arrange before submitting your DTV application.
Requirements for the type, format, translation, certification or validity of the police clearance may vary by Embassy or Consulate, so always check the requirements of the location handling your application.
After you enroll in a DTV program and provide the required information, Phuket Muay Thai prepares a complete package of supporting enrollment and training documents from our side for your DTV application.
Your standard document package includes:
• Official Acceptance Letter / Confirmation to Attend the Activity
• Certificate of Enrollment
• Muay Thai Training Program Description
• Proof of Payment / Registration Receipt
• Certificate of Registration for the Boxing Camp Leader
• Certification of Phuket Muay Thai from the Office of the Boxing Sport Board
• Phuket Muay Thai 5-Star Muay Thai Camp Certification
• Additional Phuket Muay Thai supporting documents required for your DTV application
Your standard Phuket Muay Thai supporting documents are normally prepared and emailed to you within 1 business day after we receive your completed application, payment and required information.
Some Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates require an additional Thai government support document. If this applies to where you are submitting your application, you must select the DTV program that includes Government Support Documents. These documents are processed separately and normally take approximately 5–21 days.
Your personal documents—including your passport, financial evidence, proof of residence and criminal background/police clearance—are your responsibility.

Not every DTV applicant requires the additional Thai government support documents. Requirements vary depending on the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate handling your application.
Some Thai Embassies and Consulates require Muay Thai applicants to provide an additional official support letter or documentation from the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) or the Board of Boxing Sport in addition to the standard documents provided by the Muay Thai camp. For example, Los Angeles currently publishes additional SAT/Board of Boxing Sport requirements for Muay Thai DTV applications.
If the Embassy or Consulate where you are applying requires these additional government support documents, select the Phuket Muay Thai DTV program that includes Government Support Documents.
These documents are processed separately through the appropriate Thai authorities and normally take approximately 5–21 days after we receive all required information.
If your Embassy or Consulate does not require the additional government support documents, select the standard DTV program.
If your Embassy or Consulate requires additional Thai government support documents, select the appropriate Government Support Documents program after completing your application form.
Please submit your DTV application form before making payment. After submitting your information, you will be taken to the checkout page where you can select the appropriate program and complete payment.
Yes. After the main applicant receives their DTV, an eligible spouse and children under 20 years old may apply for their own DTV as dependents.
Family members applying as dependents do not need to purchase a separate Muay Thai training program from Phuket Muay Thai. Their application is based on their relationship to the main DTV holder.
Dependent applicants generally need to provide:
• A copy of the main applicant’s approved DTV
• Proof of relationship, such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate or adoption certificate
• Their own passport, photograph and required personal application documents
• Financial evidence meeting the DTV requirement of at least 500,000 THB or equivalent
• The applicable visa application fee
Some Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates may accept financial sponsorship or family bank statements, while specific document requirements can vary depending on where the dependent applies.
Always check the current dependent-DTV requirements of the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate handling the application.
Training & Programs
Phuket Muay Thai offers three DTV Muay Thai training options:
• 9-Month Program – 20,000 THB — Budget Option
Our lowest-cost DTV Muay Thai training program.
• 12-Month Program – 30,000 THB — Recommended
Our recommended option for DTV applicants, providing a full 12-month Muay Thai enrollment period.
• 12-Month Hybrid Program – 40,000 THB — Premium Option
Our premium program combining group Muay Thai training with private training sessions for additional one-on-one instruction.
We generally recommend the 12-month program for DTV applicants. We have had some applicants using the 9-month program receive a different visa type, such as a Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV), instead of the DTV they applied for. Final visa decisions are made entirely by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate handling the application.
Each program includes all of the Phuket Muay Thai enrollment and supporting training documents required from our side for your DTV application.
If the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate where you are applying requires additional Thai government support documents, select the corresponding program that includes Government Support Documents.
Please submit your DTV application form before making payment. After submitting your information, you will be taken to the checkout page where you can select the appropriate program and complete payment.
No problem. Our Muay Thai training program is open to all experience levels, including complete beginners.
If you have never trained before, our trainers will help you learn the basics step by step, including stance, guard, footwork, punches, kicks, knees, elbows and basic defense. You do not need previous Muay Thai experience to join the program.
Phuket Muay Thai has a friendly, welcoming training environment, and many of our students are beginners or travelers trying Muay Thai for the first time in Thailand. Our goal is to help you train safely, build confidence and enjoy an authentic Muay Thai experience in Phuket.
The DTV does not currently specify a fixed number of Muay Thai classes that you must attend each week. However, if your DTV was granted based on Muay Thai training, you should genuinely participate in the training program for which you enrolled.
Phuket Muay Thai provides DTV training programs and supporting documents in good faith for students who genuinely intend to participate in Muay Thai training.
Your enrollment, active subscription, bookings and actual training attendance are recorded electronically and can be accessed through our online system at any time.
The Sports Authority of Thailand has emphasized to us that genuine participation in Muay Thai DTV programs may be checked and verified through the training camp. If Immigration or the Thai sports authorities contact Phuket Muay Thai regarding your participation, we will only verify your actual training and attendance records.
We recommend maintaining an active Muay Thai training subscription while you are using Muay Thai training as the activity supporting your DTV. If Immigration asks for evidence that you are currently participating in Muay Thai when entering or re-entering Thailand, your current subscription, bookings and attendance history can provide evidence of your participation.
Once you have completed your original DTV training program, you do not need to purchase another DTV program. You may continue training with any of our regular Muay Thai training subscriptions or packages. Your current subscription and training attendance will continue to be recorded in our system.
Before re-entry into Thailand, we recommend checking that your training subscription and attendance information are current and accessible through your online account.
Accommodation is not included in our DTV Muay Thai training programs. DTV packages include your Muay Thai training and the supporting enrollment and training documents required from Phuket Muay Thai for your visa application.
If you would like to stay with us, Phuket Muay Thai Hotel – Rawai Beach is located directly at the gym. Accommodation can be booked separately and is subject to availability.

Step 5: Prepare your personal documents

Step 6: Apply through the official Thai E-Visa system
Submit your DTV application online and upload your Phuket Muay Thai supporting documents together with your personal documents.
Step 7: Wait for the Embassy or Consulate decision
Processing times vary. If the Embassy or Consulate requests an update to documents issued by Phuket Muay Thai, we include one complimentary document revision when reasonably required for your application.
Once your DTV is approved, you can travel to Thailand and begin your Muay Thai training at Phuket Muay Thai in Rawai Beach.
DTV visa processing times vary depending on the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate handling your application. Some applications may be processed quickly, while others may take longer depending on the location, document review and whether additional information is requested.
Phuket Muay Thai prepares and emails your standard DTV supporting documents within 1 business day after receiving your completed application form, payment and required information.
If your application requires additional Thai government support documents, these are processed separately and normally take approximately 5–21 days after all required information has been received.
Once you submit your DTV application through the Thai E-Visa system, the visa processing time is controlled entirely by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate handling your application.
We recommend applying well in advance of your intended travel date and checking the current processing information published by the Embassy or Consulate where you will apply.
Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates may request additional information or updated documents while reviewing a DTV application.
If the request relates to documents issued by Phuket Muay Thai, send us a copy of the Embassy or Consulate’s request and we will review what is required.
Your DTV program includes one complimentary revision of Phuket Muay Thai supporting documents when reasonably required for your visa application.
This complimentary revision may also be used if you need to change your training start date after your original documents have been issued.
Please check all personal information, passport details, training dates and application information carefully before submitting your Phuket Muay Thai DTV application. Changes requested because incorrect information was originally provided by the applicant still count as a document revision.
Additional revisions after the complimentary revision are subject to a 3,000 THB document revision fee.
Requests involving your personal application documents, financial evidence, police clearance or other documents not issued by Phuket Muay Thai remain the applicant’s responsibility.
Yes. If information on documents issued by Phuket Muay Thai needs to be changed after they have been prepared, your DTV program includes one complimentary document revision.
This may be used when reasonably required for your visa application, including when the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate requests updated information or when information originally provided to us needs to be corrected.
Please check your personal information, passport details, training dates and application information carefully before submitting your Phuket Muay Thai DTV application. Changes requested because incorrect information was originally provided by the applicant still count as your complimentary document revision.
Additional revisions after the complimentary revision are subject to a 3,000 THB document revision fee.
If your program includes additional Thai government support documents, changes affecting those documents may require additional processing time.
If your DTV visa application is officially rejected before your training begins, Phuket Muay Thai offers a 100% refund of your DTV program payment, subject to the terms of our DTV Visa Refund Policy.
To request a refund, you must forward the official rejection email or notice from the Royal Thai Embassy, Consulate or Thai E-Visa system to visa@phuketmuaythai.co.th within 14 days of the rejection.
The refund policy applies to an official DTV visa rejection. It does not apply if you withdraw or cancel your application, decide not to proceed, fail to complete the application process, or are asked to provide additional documents or information.
The refund policy also does not apply if the rejection results from incorrect, false or incomplete information provided by the applicant, applicant error, applying through an Embassy or Consulate where the applicant is not eligible to apply, or failure to follow the application requirements.
If another visa is issued instead of the DTV you applied for, including a Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV), this is not considered a DTV rejection for purposes of the refund policy.
Once a refund has been issued, all Phuket Muay Thai DTV supporting documents connected with that enrollment are cancelled and may no longer be used.
DTV program payments and supporting documents are non-transferable.
This 100% DTV rejection refund policy applies to eligible DTV programs purchased on or after September 26, 2026.
After Your DTV Is Approved
The DTV is valid for 5 years with multiple entries and allows you to stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per entry.
You may apply through Thai Immigration for a one-time extension of up to an additional 180 days per entry.
If you remain in Thailand for 90 consecutive days or longer, you are required to complete the standard 90-day address report with Thai Immigration. If you leave Thailand before reaching 90 consecutive days, the 90-day period starts again from your next entry.
After the maximum permitted stay of 180 days plus the additional extension, you must leave Thailand. You may then re-enter using the same DTV as long as the visa remains valid, subject to normal Thai Immigration entry requirements.
Yes. The DTV is a multiple-entry visa valid for 5 years, so you may leave Thailand and re-enter while your visa remains valid.
Each time you enter Thailand using your DTV, you may be granted a new stay of up to 180 days, subject to Thai Immigration approval at the time of entry.
Because your DTV was granted based on Muay Thai training, we recommend maintaining an active Muay Thai training subscription and current training records while using Muay Thai as the activity supporting your DTV.
Your Phuket Muay Thai subscription, bookings and attendance history are recorded electronically and can be accessed through your online account if you need to show evidence of your current participation.
You do not need to purchase another DTV program each time you re-enter Thailand. Once your original DTV program is completed, any active Phuket Muay Thai training subscription or package can be used to continue your training and maintain current training records.
Yes. If your DTV approval takes longer than expected or your travel plans change, you may request one change to the start date of your Phuket Muay Thai training program.
Please provide your exact new start date. We will submit the change to our booking system provider to have your training subscription updated.
Because start-date changes must be processed by our booking system provider, we allow one change only. Please make sure your new date is confirmed before requesting the update.
This changes your training subscription start date only. It does not change or reissue your DTV supporting documents.
Your DTV Muay Thai training program is flexible. You do not need to attend on a fixed weekly schedule and may use your training sessions throughout the valid period of your program.
When you arrive for your first training session, please see our receptionist. She will help you get started and show you how to check in for your classes so that your training attendance is properly recorded.
You can view your active subscription, bookings and attendance history through our online system at any time.
All training sessions included in your program must be used before the subscription expires. Unused sessions do not carry over beyond the program validity period.
Once your original DTV program is completed, you do not need to purchase another DTV package to continue training. You may purchase any of our regular Muay Thai training subscriptions or packages.
Yes. Your Phuket Muay Thai enrollment, bookings and actual training attendance are recorded electronically and are available through your online account.
Access Your Training Account →
If you have not logged in before, use the email address associated with your account, select Forgot Password, and create a password. You will then be able to access your active subscription, bookings and attendance records.
If Immigration asks you to provide evidence of your participation in the Muay Thai program supporting your DTV, you can access and present these records directly from your account.
If Immigration or another Thai government authority would like to verify your participation directly with Phuket Muay Thai, please let us know that they may be contacting us. We will be happy to verify the accurate records of your actual training attendance.
